Closing Ceremonies - The "Official" End Of ScaperCon

ScaperCon officially ended with a brief Closing Ceremonies at 5pm. DRD-Andrew's personal theory about Closing Ceremonies for fan-run cons is that they're like the bow that the cast of a play takes at the end of the play - they give the people running the show a sense of "it's over", and for many just seeing smiling faces at the end of the event is more reward than almost any amount of payment could be for all the work put into the con.

While waiting for closing ceremonies, DRD-Karenza made the suggestion that the crew might want to go into downtown Chicago that evening. After investigating some options, the crew decided to check out Navy Pier that night. Unfortunately, by the time the crew headed out, DRD-Karenza no longer felt like going into town, but the rest of the crew had a fun little trip into Chicago which included checking out the "tall-ships" and pirates, and a harbour cruise!

On the way back to the hotel, we came across a cool-looking Hard Rock Cafe... ... Rainforest Cafe (complete with giant Rooftop Lizard)... ... and a McDonald's dressed up and signed as "The Rock 'N' Roll McDonald's"!
